Emergency Vet
Cougar went to the emergency vet earlier this evening for excessive drooling. The vet didn't find any conclusive signs of any one problem-- drooling can be a symptom of anything from nausea to liver disease. He was treated with a shot of Famotidine as well as oral medication to relieve nausea and any stomach troubles. So far he seems to be drooling a bit less--mostly when stimulated by head scratches and tummy rubs. It's as if his lower lip is numb, and he can't feel the saliva slipping from his mouth. Otherwise, he is as good as new, scarfing down all his food, running around the house, being friendly and sitting with me. If it gets any worse, we're supposed to go in for a blood test.
